Where your files are saved

Every utility writes into a shared output folder, inside its own subfolder:

• Change the root folder under Settings ▸ General ▸ Output folder with Browse…, or open it in File Explorer with Reveal.
• Nothing is ever overwritten. If a file with the same name already exists, PhotoTray saves the new one under a unique name instead of replacing the old one.
• From any finished job in the Job Queue you can Open the result directly or Reveal it in File Explorer.

Two things write outside this scheme, and both do so deliberately:

• Photo Organizer renames and files photos where they already live, or into the destination you type. It is not writing copies into an output subfolder.
• Watch Folders rules choose their own output — alongside the original, into a folder you name, or into the utility's own subfolder. See Watch Folders.

If something goes wrong here

• I cannot find my converted file. Open the job in the Job Queue and press Reveal. That is always faster than hunting through folders.
• A file I expected to be replaced is still there. That is by design — look for the new file next to it with a suffix appended to its name.
